| One project from my "Character and Object Design" Class.
The assignment was to use the theme of one popular "fairy tale", create three characters based off the story and create a full-color poster using that theme. We were given the option of using plenty of 'artistic license'. I chose to recreate the story "Beauty and the Beast". My personal twists on the original tale include the beast and beauty's genders swapped, and a modern/futuristic setting. My three characters are Beauty, the Beast, and Beauty's Father. ~~ Artist comments ~~ BEHOLD MY HAND-PAINTED BACKGROUND!!! ... done with a MOUSE!! Anyways, this was quite an undertaking... I wanted to show that I could DO more complex work if I wanted, that before I'd been making them monotone on purpose, anyways the idea here is I wanted to portray some of MY beast's more feminine aspects, she was created to fight in a war, but always hated killing. It causes her great pain and sorrow but she cannot even cry. The Father character is a veteran of the 'War'. hence his almost mercenary appearance. Names would be appreciated if you got somethin' for me! Beast's name is Aeona Father: Max? |
